Virat Kohli completes 2011 as Highest ODI Run-Getter

The handsome cool dude of Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli is surely grabbing the headlines nowadays as he finishes the 2011 by becoming the highest ODI run-getter.

Virat Kohli won the under-19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2006, and from that period the young angry looking hunk took to limelight of every Indian daily newspapers and magazines. He was also the captain of that winning team and was acclaimed to be part of the Indian cricket team. Just two years later, he made his debut entry against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in 2008.

The start of 2011 was tremendous as he scored 54 runs against SA in test matches in Durban, and from then there is no looking back for him. This determined right-hand batsman hit a superb 100 against Bangladesh in the World Cup opener to support and commend Virender Sehwag’s eccentric innings.

He moved ahead in scoring brilliant 282 runs in the flourishing campaign making his place permanent in the world’s best Indian team. But this Delhite showed his steady performance in England by taking it as a challenge by producing 55 runs 55 in the first match at Chester-le-Street. Though the series being a devastating one for the Indians, but Kohli managed with good figures.

In India too, with same opponent ‘England’, Kohli produced an outstanding score of ton and a half century, with yet another sparkling good series against West Indies.

Thus the champion Virat Kohli ended the year 2011 by topping the ODI charts with excellent 1381 runs at an average of 47.62 with four maximum centuries.
