Lieutenant Colonel Dhoni attends Territorial Army Raising Day

Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who was very recently appointed into the Territorial Army (TA) as a nominal lieutenant colonel, appeared in his first official event on 8th of October. He was accompanied by Vijay Kumar Singh during the TA’s Raising Day commemoration in Delhi.

Right after his continuous winning and achievements in cricket, Dhoni was bestowed this prestigious rank. He had won the finals of this year’s IPL with his team Chennai Superkings making all the roars, and also captained our country to grabbing the World Cup win in the March.

On Saturday, the Territorial Army was honored sixty-one years of its presence, also known as citizens army, right after giving cent percent to the nation in the battleground. This was surely a grand achievement and a feather in the cap of TA. In the name of celebrations, distinct types of events were arranged all over the country, involving blood donation camps. A trans-India cycle expedition was organized named ‘Pradeshik Bhraman’ on behalf of adventure activities and awareness- was headed by the Indian Army Chief General V.K. Singh.

It is heard that M.S. Dhoni will soon be credited the Indian Army’s olive greens, after receiving an offer of honorary commission in the territorial Army at Delhi on Tuesday. The offer was made by the Army chief General V.K. Singh when Dhoni and his team mate Suresh Raina encountered him at his residence.

M.S. Dhoni and his team was showered with loads of compliments for their superb performance in the World Cup and other matches too. He was impressed by the leadership quality of Dhoni, under whom the team gave a wonderful performance, making India proud and happy.

According to the officer, the Indian skipper accepted the honor in Territorial Army. As per M.S., he was always in eager spirits to join the army and had communications with soldiers too, besides having many friends from the army forces.

M.S. Dhoni and his better half Sakshi met the Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik on 10th of October, who later recommended him a sortie on Indian Air Force’s front-line Sukhoi fighter jet very soon.

Dhoni is surely rising ahead with his brilliant captaincy and remarkable performance on field!
